6.5 earthquake strikes Challis, Idaho area - Silver Valley News

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Challis area of southern Idaho at 4:52 pm Tuesday.


Maps show the earthquake epicenter to be about 100 miles northeast of Boise.


Thousands of people across the Inland Northwest have reported feeling some sort of movement.


According to other reports, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit West Yellowstone this morning. There was also a 2.4 in Clinton, Montana.
